Medical Humanities Research Institute
Giving Opportunities

In order to meet the growing demand for Medical Humanities courses and research opportunities, we must attract and sustain preeminent researchers and scholars. New investments will allow us to expand our curricular offerings and research expertise; retain our thriving minor while building a new undergraduate major to meet student demand; advance opportunities for student internships, research practica and study abroad; expand our Medical Humanities Research Institute; create a Medical Humanities graduate certificate program; recruit postdoctoral research fellows; support faculty research that engages with the Texas Medical Center; and foster local and international collaborations.

By strengthening the Medical Humanities at Rice, we will ensure that large numbers of Rice students graduate as humanist scientists and scientifically engaged humanists, thereby capitalizing on the established strengths of our faculty while enhancing Rice’s reputation as a socially and ethically engaged research university.
